Original Bugeye accelerator pedals are a terrible design. They plug into a pivoting metal rod and can easily become un-plugged while driving, which is an obvious safety hazard. Once the pedal disconnects, It’s not difficult to lodge the rubber pedal on the accelerator rod, thus sticking the throttle OPEN!
The other challenge with this original design is the hinge mount requires two holes in your nice floor pan. Since it is naturally rusting and making holes on its own, it’s never fun to punch more holes if you don’t have to. Those accelerator holes can become yet another source of corrosion.
Since about 1979 I have been driving my Bugeye ‘Gumby” with just metal bar under my foot and no pedal. And on the cars the we ship to customers, we remove the pedal for safety. Even though it doesn’t look pretty, the bar has been our best solution, until now.
We are exited to offer a nice cast aluminum pad you can easily bolt into place, along with a rubber pedal pad to cover it. This is an elegant solution to an old problem. It’s easy to install and makes heel/toe shifting easy. This is an upgrade that is a winner for every early Sprite!
You get the aluminum bolt on pad, hardware to mount it and a rubber pedal pad, which you will need to install on the aluminum pad before installation.
NOTE: The star washers go in between the aluminum pedal ears and the metal accelerator rod-see photos below. These take up the space and allow for a snug fit before you tighten the bolt. Make sure to tighten the bolt so that the pedal is snug. It can float a little, but make sure to tighten the bolt sufficiently to ensure that the pedal can't flop around. Make sure to use the star washers as shown. Tighten the bolt until the star washers bite into the metal accelerator rod, even if it slightly bends the aluminum "ears" of the casting. The ears may bend slightly, but if the bolt is overtightened the ears can snap, so don't overtighten! We are not responsible for broken ears due to over tightening.

WIDE Dress Shoes With SUPPORT

I've seen dress shoes and worn dress shoes before, but these are simply the best dress shoes I've ever worn my entire life. 99% of dress shoes have the same problem, they have the thinnest little soles that offer no support. BRUNO MARC HAS SOLVED THE PROBLEM. These dress shoes not only support wide feet like mine who historically have had and still have little support in the market, but Bruno Marc has wide options that fit perfectly, and the support with the thick foam sole is so needed and awesome. I had a pleasant surprise putting these things on and there being some tactile grip enhancers inside the shoe so you can feel the shoes better and get a little tickle / massage while you're at it. These things are dripping with style, easy to wear, and while they might look firm on the outside, on the inside the shoe just has such a nice flexibility and foamy feel, the top where the top of your feet feel the roof of the shoe, it has such perfect ooey gooey support I can't believe it. The outside sole also has this neat tactile feel. The durability looks good and feels good for now.

Comfort and style!

Very light weight and also fashionable, they fit well right out of the box. I wear size 9.5 and have a slim foot and put them on and wore them hem for about an hour to “break” them in, and they felt very comfortable and have remained so without any blistering or discomfort. I appreciate the small ‘nubs’ built into the sole and the extra padding in the heel. Even our 6 year old grandson was impressed: the white sole has “air holes” for extra cushioning and he said, “They look like Nike AirMax 270’s!” Not bad for a quarter of the price. Well made, and I am hoping that they will endure frequent use.

My “go to” work shoes
Size: 9, Color: Brown
I think these look great, sporty and office appropriate for men as well outside of a really formal setting (wouldn’t pair with my suit but for chinos and a polo, it’s perfect!). The main thing I want to talk about though, is COMFORT. Man these are great! I’ve always had flat feet with discomfort after a few minutes of standing. With these on, I find myself using my standing desk for over an hour when I first get in and taking walks around the building during break time with ease. No tired feet when I get home and I think they look pretty cool to top it off. Great value.
